The Estrangement Programme was a new process used by the Protectorate which "extracts" the prejudices of the subject by a form of mental block or conditioning and wiping out all past memories of the subject's "crimes".

The Protectorate however, deny emphatically that this process is not "brainwashing".

The notable person who recieved this treatment was Solomon, a high-ranking captured preceptor, which wiped much of his past memory.
